I pride myself in the fact that I have natural maternal instincts. Maybe it's because I'm the oldest of four kids, the fact that I've babysat 10+ years as my primary source of income, or that I love babies, but changing diapers, giving bottles, holding babies is something that just feels completely natural to me.
So me, (being a person that loves challenges) told my mom a couple of weeks ago that one kid at a time wouldn't be enough of a "challenge" for me, and I hope I ended up with twins, even triplets when I got pregnant...
(Oh God's laughing at me for that one..)
So tonight when I got asked if I could handle two five month olds by myself, (one who is sick) I not only willingly agreed, but got excited about the challenge.
Two diapers, two bottles, two books, two bedtimes,...and only 2 hours of the kids actually being awake... it couldn't be harder than one five month old, right?
oh SO wrong!
Let's try 4 diapers, 4 different feedings (still 2 bottles), three outfits, (that wasn't even in the original equation...) one dose of tylenol, 6 different attempts at bedtime, a gazillion books, lots of tears and spitups, and FOUR hours of the kids being up .....and one burnt pizza later.... (forgot about that in the midst of the tears...)
.....they are both asleep..and I am utterly exhausted.
But the beauty of babysitting?
I get a nice check, and can hand the boys back to their mommas, and sleep thru the entire night without little tears wake me up. :)

It's been awhile
So what have I been up too the last month?
Lots of wedding stuff, and even more school.
Sean and I found an amazing place to live. And due to a special we are saving 200/month! Praise God!
My brother came to see me and look at colleges. It was so cool to be able to participate in the part of his life, and show him a true college experience: Mid night bowling!
My best friend came to visit from North Carolina. We had an amazing time and got several fun pictures. Including one with Leslie! (If you don't know Leslie, come to Austin, it's an Austin trademark.)
Over Spring Break I did lots of wedding stuff. Such as get married...
Ok just kidding...but that is the church we are getting married in and we will be in the exact same position in less than 150 days! (Just in much fancier clothes!)
I also help host two showers for two of my closest friends, traveled to Lubbock to hang out with Sean's parents, did LOTS of school/student interview stuff, and am finally on a mini school break so more wedding stuff to do this week.
I'm enjoying life to the fullest, and cannot wait to be Mrs. Ray!
Oh! And, Sean's (and my soon to be) nephew will be here any day now!
