What do you DO all day?

Never once in my life have I asked "What does a stay at home mom DO all day?"

I know what they do all day. I had the privilege of being raised by a mom who stayed at home.

I love the fact that she was home every day when I got home from school, that I could call her anytime on my cell phone from the bathroom and tell her exciting news about grades or gossip, or that she would bring me lunch when I forgot it. (Among a thousand other advantages....)

It's no easy task to run a household...

in case you were wondering what a stay at home mom does all day, here's a little piece of my day since I became a temporary one.

6:30AM- Wake up for feeding
7AM- back to bed
7:10AM Wake up to screaming from bad gas pains -this proceeds off and on until 9:45
9:45- Feed
10:30- nap, I proceed to shower, get called out of the shower due to...

11:15-screaming from gas pains-
11:25- back to sleep for Z - back to shower for me

pull sheets off the bed, turn on dryer and it proceeds to smell like smoke, turn off dryer, call husband.

12:30- wake up happy- feed- huge blowout diaper all over the couch, mom, and baby
1:00- play, tummy time, talking, laughing
1:30- nap time- I straighten my hair, and proceed to make lunch...as microwave goes off, so does the nursery monitor...

And I think you get the point...(or got it back at 10:30AM)

so next time you think "What does a stay at home mom do all day?"

Now you know. Just think- they get paid less than half of what you do.

Wake me up when September May ends...

Right before Sean and I got married I wrote this post about being a 'barbie girl' and trying to find a happy balance between my career and my babies. Now it's time to find that balance.

I'm not ready for September to be over...the end of September means the start of rotations again...no more sleeping in, no more hanging out all day with Z, no more days of shopping. The end of September means back to pharmacy life and feeling clueless about drug knowledge I should know, long days and projects.
The end of September means more learning and becoming a better pharmacist and the start of becoming a 'working mom.' The plan God has for me at this point in our lives and trusting him with what comes next.

I am ready to learn- I've missed it. But I have treasured every moment of these 7 1/2 weeks I have had at home, and am excited about the (almost) two months I will have at home in May/June.

But for now I will be Barbie with a baby on my hip and a lot of help from my Ken!

the view from here...and ramblings

The picture is kind of blurry, but you get the idea.

I never thought I'd be a baby wearing mama, but it is one of my new favorite things. We live in the sling when we go out to run errands. He sleeps so peacefully and I can get everything I need to done.

I booked my flight to Anaheim for the pharmacy convention in December. Surreal that I am actually going for a purpose that will further my career...I feel like I am applying to pharmacy school all over again with residency applications, and letters of recommendations and such. It will be a fun P4 reunion though!

We traveled a lot the last two weeks. Went to Weatherford/Fort Worth where I got my first real dose of motherhood. (Read: diarrhea all over my shirt, shorts, hands, his feet, outfit and socks....in Target.) I'll spare you the pictures. (Of course I didn't take pictures...Not Me!)

We also went to Sean's parents cabins in the mountains, what a relaxing, fun weekend that was. Z did great on his first plane trip, sleeping the whole way.

It seems so much harder to get things done partially because I nap or sleep in almost every day and partially because someone would rather be in my arms than in his swing, bouncer, pack n play, floor mat, or boppy.

I go back to rotations in a little over two weeks.
I am going to miss this little guy so much....(just an excuse to post another picture of Z)

but I am ready to get back into the world of pharmacy. I've felt disconnected and am afraid I have forgotten what little I know.
If only I could bring him to work with me...the best of both worlds.

In the craziness of life I missed the second anniversary of my blog and didn't even post about my first wedding anniversary. (I can't believe it's been over a year!- and what an eventful year it has been!)

We ate year old wedding cake, (ew)

and I was more thankful for the extra space in my freezer than I was to eat cake, talked about our favorite day memories, went to Chilis for dinner, all while bouncing a fussy baby on our lap. A crazy year for sure, one we wouldn't change for the world...and one we are not attempting to "top" anytime soon either!

(We did get a proper date night thanks to my brother who babysat a couple of days before at a quaint little italian restaurant, and to hang out with friends the week after at a country music concert- which was my present to Sean!)

And just because this post isn't long enough- I'll end it with another picture.
I think the pictures I have previously posted have given you a false view of Z. He is a wonderful happy baby, but sometimes he gets a little upset.

And of course I didn't take his picture while he was upset just to document his first nap in his crib. (Sean wouldn't let me take it while he was asleep in fear of waking him up...)
