Things I've learned in the past month..

So my month of blogging daily is over.
I only missed a couple of days, and when I figured out how to modify the date I was able to cheat and make up for it!

I've really enjoyed this day to day blogging. It's made me stop and think about the day to day memories. And at the end of most days I have one moment where I can't wait "share with my blog friends" I've learned a lot this past month...such as:

-
never give kids your keys to play with..especially if they can walk.

-matter how miserable finals are I go to the greatest university ever.

- wearing your pants 4 days in a row..and sweats every day for a week and a half is totally acceptable at finals time.

-even if pharmacy school is awful, it could be worse..I could work in the rectal thermometer department at Johnson and Johnson

But the most important thing I've learned is that:

the day to day events are just as memorable and entertaining as big events such as weddings

So remember- don't let the day to day events pass you by as you anxiously count down to the big ones.

Flower Girl Dresses

Don't I have the cutest flower girls EVER?

"We're dressing up like princesses and throwing flowers on the floor!"
That is our motto for Lyndsey and Shelby for the wedding.

She was so tired of me taking her picture that I told her to make a silly face at the camera. Then I had her turn around to get the back and made her make another silly face. I think these pictures describe their personalities s well. But the second dress (the one above) is the actual flower girl dress, but with gold ribbon instead of teal. Whatcha think?

We can't get rid of the EARS!

Sean and I had the joy of cleaning out his room this past week. We went through all of his old high school/middle school/elementary school stuff and I really enjoyed getting to know the awkward Sean from elementary school days. (Who knew he got sent to the principal's office on a daily basis?)

We came across a lot of things he could not bear to part with. Such as these:

Sean: But Teisha! What's wrong with the mouse ears?

Me: Sean? What's right with the mouse ears?

Sean: I can't get rid of these...

Me: Really? Where are we going to put them?

Sean: Above our bed!

That has become our running joke. Whenever we can't bear to part with something that is from our "single" days we say it's going above our bed :)

We did very well. Filled up 7 or 8 trashbags for goodwill, one bag of trash, and two bins of things he wanted to keep. And other than the Mickey hat I don't think he threw anything out he really wanted.

We ran across his true love waits card that he signed in 2002 pledging to keep himself pure for his wife and it was the sweetest thing ever. (It made me cry...just a little..)

We had a great time laughing at old pictures and reading old love notes from each other back from high school.

It was a fun "getting married" experience with many more to come.

Cheating blogspot...and you..

I just realized I can cheat blogspot. And change the date and time of my entries. (Duh, I am way behind on blogging discoveries, this I know!) So even though it's 12:25am on the 29th, This post will say the 28th!) :)

I finally uploaded pictures from the entire past two months. (No worries, I just printed pictures from October on, so these won't get printed until after the wedding at this rate...but they are digital and available for you)....so here are some from Jen and Keith's Wedding! (Jen is my best friend from high school, a bridesmaid in my wedding, and a huge constant in my life....it's been so fun to go thru this stage of life together..along with all the growing up ones in high school as well..)

Ok enough rambling. On to pictures!

The beautiful bridesmaids and bride (minus Kristen!) before we got all dolled up!

Almost time! Ready to go in our dresses! (With pockets!)

Our bouquets of blue hydrangeas and yellow roses!

My man, who matched me perfectly (and not planned either!)
Cutting of the cake.

The GORGEOUS bride (that's the groom behind us!)
For those of you that don't know there is a history of Jen and I in this pose in formal wear. We have a picture of us in this "pose" in every formal dress (homecoming and proms from high school...) so of course we couldn't break tradition!

Life lessons

Sean and I have done a lot of "grownup" things in the past few days...
insurance companies, buying wedding rings, applying for jobs, and signing a lease.
Some "life lessons" that we have learned in the past few days:

Under liability insurance, if we hit someone else we are covered. But "someone else" does not include him..... or me. (Ex: If I hit him we are in big trouble.)

Good thing God promised to never flood the earth again. Because if rain comes down in Austin and ruins our apartment we will not be covered.

Sean thinks biblical times would've been a lot easier. Sheep would've been a lot easier to deal with then all this money we are going to have to put down that we don't have. (But as I pointed out after he made this statement, 'we don't have any sheep either.')

Breathtaking

After a 5 minute downpour Sean and I felt like this was God's gift right at our feet.

Double rainbow, blue skies, reaching to the tip of the earth. It really reminded me of how great Thou art....

Not Me Monday!

Never participated in Not Me Monday? Head over to MckMama's blog and figure out what it's all about.

These are all the things I definitely did not do this week.

So here is the last of my finals "Not Me!"

On the day of my last final I went to my drawer to pull out jeans...and I definitely did not think about the last time I had worn anything but running shorts and sweats and definitely could not remember when it was.

I did not give the one year old I babysit her way when she took my keys out of my purse and start throwing them around. I took them away and when she proceeded to scream bloody murder I did not give them back to her just so she would shut up. I never give into the kids I babysit and always stand my ground.

I did not moan in horror when I heard a big "SPLASH" of my keys hitting the toilet water followed by that sweet little giggle. I definitely did not proceed to yell "AVA NO!" at the top of my lungs scaring the little girl into tears. (That really was a sudden reaction, not on purpose). I never yell at my kiddos and always use my inside voice when disciplining. She definitely did not walk around the house going "No, No, No" for the next 3 hours I was there.

All in all with the kids I babysit my keys were not the toy of the week. Of course they love the hundreds of dollars their parents have spent on toys and would never choose my keys over a 50 dollar leapfrog game :)

(Don't worry, I did sanitize them) :)

I definitely did not tear up when my best friend walked down the isle for fake on Saturday night and did not grin from ear to ear as she did it for real on Sunday afternoon.

I definitely do not feel the most relaxed I've felt since pharmacy school, and am not enjoying my two weeks to their fullest.

I am not a total "goal oriented freak" and am not so incredibly disappointed in myself for missing a post.

Pictures and wedding post soon! :)

It's Wedding Day

YAY!

Things have been crazy around here getting ready for wedding, but it's almost time!

Wedding

wedding festivities are well under way for Jen and Keith!
very excited and can' t wait to tell all about it!

NO!

Isn't it ironic that 3 of my 4 "regular" kids have learned the word "NO!" this week?

It reminds me of my favorite book my parents use to read me as a kid...

If you've never read this book get it and read it to your favorite kid(s). It's cute and catchy. :)

Off to Tulsa, Lubbock, and then Houston for two weddings and missing 3 others (weddings) this weekend. It's so weird. My friends aren't old enough to get married and live with boys.

The "All knowing" letter

Being in pharmacy school is fun. Ever since I got my acceptance letter two years ago I am a "drug expert" in some people's eyes. Yes that magical "Congratulations you are now a part of UT'S College of Pharmacy" letter held everything you could ever want to know about drugs.

People use to call me and ask me questions and 95% of the time I'd call my pharmacist or look it up. (On reputable websites thankyouverymuch).

But now people call me and ask me questions and I either
A) Know it...or
B) know I am suppose to know it but can't remember it.
C) Know I will learn it in the next year. (we all hope so!)

But the best is when I know it and can give advice and counsel. Because it means all this hard work is paying off. and I am learning something. And soon (2 years-AH) I will be out in the community helping people and improving their quality of life. People will come to me for advice and I will make a difference.

And that makes it all worth it.

Whew and then some...

I'm finished. Whew! It hasn't sunk in yet.

Really excited about the rest of the week- hanging out in Austin with my man and my Rx friends. Laying out, date night, and going out :)

Now on to two weeks of crazy wedding decision
s, TWO weddings I'm a bridesmaid in and lots of traveling.

Running on two hours of sleep, 6 for the last two nights combined. and I'm going out tonight.

You're only young once right?

Right.

My parents celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary today. I love the fact that Sean and I both come from parents with solid marriages. I used to think it was so "gross" when my parents would kiss or flirt in front
of me. And now I love it. (Ok...love might be a strong word, but it makes me smile.)

After 25 years (22 of my life :) ) I have only watched
my mom and dad fall more in love as every day passes.

I think some of the wisest advice my mom ever gave me was this:
"Teisha, each day I go to bed loving your dad more than I did the day before.."

I think that's so important to remember. Sean and I know our marriage won't be perfect but I think that as long as we keep that in our heart and keep God in the center it's going to be amazing.

So thanks Mom and Dad for being such good examples and teaching me how to love.
Happy Anniversary!

Not Me Monday!

It's MONDAY! My favorite part about Mondays is here.
And it's finals week...so this one is more brutally honest than normal.

I did not, in the midst of finals, forget when the last time I had washed my hair was...and based on the fact that my hair didn't look greasy convince myself I could go another day without washing it. Of course I wash my hair daily and always look my best.

I did not contemplate stealing this sign because it so accurately describes the way I feel right now.

After cleaning out my closet two weeks ago, forcing myself to throw out anything I hadn't worn in a year (ok, ok, two years) I "hid" the perfect pair of gauchos that I spent FOREVER searching for freshman year of college. I did not proceed to bring out the most comfortable stylish pants in the world on finals week...who cares if I haven't seen anyone wear these in the last two years.

I did not proceed to wear said pants four (I think..maybe three or five?) days in a row.

I do not have solid Dr. Pepper running through my veins..and I wouldn't be surprised if I started urinating straight DP after this week.

I was not completely upset at people's facebook statuses that gave away the Grey's spoiler. I didn't get really upset that pharmacy school keeps me from watching my favorite shows. It's a stupid tv show. I would never get upset at something as dumb as that.

I do not feel like this is the longest 9 days of my life and have not lost all motivation to study for my last final.

I am not looking forward to sleeping in as late as I want on Wednesday. Just because it's a Wednesday and I usually have my tests that morning doesn't make that sleep 12x better than it would if I got to sleep in, say, on a Tuesday or something.

Maybe Pharmacy School isn't as awful as I think it is....

When you have a 'I Hate My Job' day:

On your way home from work, stop at your pharmacy and go to the thermometer section and purchase a rectal thermometer made by Johnson & Johnson
Be very sure you get this brand. When you get home, lock your doors, draw the curtains and disconnect the phone so you will not be disturbed. Change into very comfortable clothing and sit in your favorite chair. Open the package and remove the thermometer. Now, carefully place it on a table or a surface so that it will not become chipped or broken.

Now the fun part begins.

Take out the literature from the box and read it carefully. You will notice that in small print there is a statement: 'Every Rectal Thermometer made by Johnson & Johnson is personally tested and then sanitized.

Now, close your eyes and repeat out loud five times,'I am so glad I do not work in the thermometer quality control department at Johnson & Johnson.'

98 days

In the midst of my ranting this week, Sean and I crossed over to double digit days! 98 days to go until I am Mrs. Ray.

Had an awful exam this morning. Awful. And I'm exhausted. but only one left to go!

Tonight I have Gavin (remember the cute, adorable 5 month olds that were one of the easiest babysitting jobs I've ever had?) I'm kinda disappointed though, the parents want me to come over after he's already in bed. Yeah, easy money...but what fun is that?

I have to admit I have really been enjoying blogging daily..I think in the near future (probably after wedding) I am going to start a 365 blog like my friend Mandy.

Cute idea don't you think?

Frustration

Warning: Rant

Everyday I sit in the same chair. For 13 hours straight and study.

Then I go home. And sit in the same spot and study.

And then I go to bed.

And guess what I do when I get up-
study!

And I brought this upon myself, I know I chose this career path. But in the sake of my kids.

IT'S NOT FAIR!

Everyone else is done with finals. On vacation. Laying by the pool. Key: NOT studying.

Grad school seemed like a much better idea when all my friends weren't graduating and
done with school forever.

Of course I'm gonna miss this one day. (No, I really don't think I will.)

Wordless Thursday?

So a big blog trend is Wordless Wednesday. But I was wordy on Wednesday, so here is Wordless Thursday for this week.

I think this picture explains it all, don't you?

Procrastination

First final done.
Second final will be the hardest. I should probably get started on that right away.

This will help distract you from finals and give you another way to procrastinate. Makes me proud to be a longhorn!

I am finding new ways to procrastinate. I had a lovely dinner date with my man....and then we went on a walk.. and then I FINALLY sat down to study and found a nice trail of ants all along the wall, and the window...and the floorboard..and etc. etc.

We decided to go to an old time favorite tonight- Chili's. Let me just back up by saying I have gone to Chili's since before I could talk. It's an old family favorite, and an old Sean/Teisha favorite. EVERY chili's I think I have ever been in the girl's bathroom is on the right, the guy's straight ahead.

Well if you are keeping track of Chili's bathrooms, let me say that at 45th and Lamar that is
not the case.

How do I know?

From firsthand experience for sure. Walking into the "girls" bathroom I proceeded to find a sweet old man (just washing his hands thank goodness!...who didn't see me, might I add) and at least two urinals.
Not physically possible for us.

(But wait- it can be...have you seen these new "Go Girls?" . Might be the craziest thing I've seen in a LONG time.)

So there you have it. The most interesting thing that has happened to me in a long time.

Oh! And I am Twittering! If you want to follow me. I'm not sure about this whole twitter thing yet. Or how to put it on the sidebar of my blog. Or if anyone
really cares what I am doing all day.

Not Me Monday!

So it's that time again!

Head over to MckMama's Blog for much more uhhh...entertaining Not Me's!

I did not stay up until 2 AM doing wedding stuff when I had a test the next day and had only gotten 6 hours of sleep (combined) the two nights before.

I did not play peekaboo for 30 minutes straight with a five month old and was laughing harder than he was by the end of the game.

I did not decorate my entire apartment (plus my kids rooms, and the study, and the extra living room that we will not have for several years) in Hobby Lobby last week.

I am not completely into this whole "R" thing..and I did NOT buy another R to hang in my new apartment....so when you come visit me you will not find at least 8+ "R's" in our 800sq ft apartment.

I am not totally into this whole video baby monitor thing and do not watch the kids like it's the Truman Show or anything. That would be really creepy.

I am not dreading finals and relearning an entire semester of material in 2 days.

A Dr. Pepper can that was left in my car did not explode all over everything...and probably won't get cleaned up till after finals.

I am not just a little jealous of MckMama's "Not Me's" and do not think that my "Not Me's" will get much better when I have kids of my own!

Pretty princess dresses and throwing flowers on the floor

Happy Mother's Day to my beautiful Momma, and to all the Mom's.

Last night was my roommate's bachelorette party! We went to dinner at iron cactus and then back to the house to hang out and watch girly wedding movies. We had a great time and enjoyed loving on Shannon!

Yesterday I had the pleasure of taking my flower girls to try on dresses.
With a wall of mirrors and 'princess dresses' who wouldn't feel like a princess.

The smiles and excitement on their faces made me grin as I remember getting that same grin trying on bridal gowns.  There is something about putting on a gorgeous white dress that makes you feel like a princess no matter what the age.

I failed...

So to me it's still Saturday..but this post will say Sunday...
but that's ok..

Shoutout to Lauren....:) who claims she reads everyday...and cause I'm tired and need to go to bed.

update tomorrow, promise :)

25 Things

Facebook had a huge thing around Christmas for everyone to post 25 things about themselves.
Giving in to the peer pressure, I too had to do my "25 things."

So in regards of time and just for fun I have decided to repost my 25 things.

My 25 things:
1) If you don’t have a firm handshake I won’t take you seriously. I don’t care if you have Ph.D/MD/MS or XYZ after your name. You can’t shake a hand, I write you off as crap in my book.

2) my room can be messier than anything, dirty clothes everywhere, and not cleaned in months. But my bed will be made, always. Unless I woke up late.

3) Honestly, I think facebook is really creepy. REALLY creepy. People from elementary school that I don’t even remember are asking me to invite me to their wedding..creepy.

4) I never was a big tv person…until pharmacy school. Something about rotting your brain after hours of memorizing drug information makes you feel good. Now I have to many shows to keep up with..so many that its probably going to affect my grades this semester.

5) I really am not an animal person..at all…I use to make fun of the people that came into the pharmacy and spent hundreds of dollars a year on Rxs for their animals. Now I have a dog, and I understand…But I’m still not an animal person at all…just a Cece person.

6) I miss acting. So much…and am very excited UT is requiring a fine arts credit for me to graduate pharmacy school. (That and Texas History/Government…REALLY people?!?!? when will I EVER use that as a pharmacist) But I can’t wait until next fall when I get to be in an acting class..maybe I’ll be discovered and can pay off my loans quicker than I thought.

7) I love to dress up in my old prom dresses…homecoming dresses..anything. Everytime I do a room dejunking I will find my dresses..put them on and finishing cleaning my room in one of them. It’s probably a good thing I can’t get into my wedding dress by myself..or I’d be wearing that 24/7

8) I cannot wait to get married- but more than anything I am ready to BE married. I am excited to never have to say bye to Sean for days on end anymore. I’m ready to be in the same town..and to have him around on a regular basis.

9) I hate watching movies again. There are movies I can see once a year or every other year…but the only movie I can watch over and over again is How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days. Cheesy- but my favorite movie ever.

10) Dr. Pepper in a fountain with light ice. Yes the fountain is better, and yes the “light ice” is important It’s the way to my heart.

11) I doodle. All the time. Like middle school doodles. It’s a silly 13 year old girl habit, but it’s a way that I stay awake when I am bored. Don’t take it personally if I doodled while
talking to you, I’m listening…just didn’t get a lot of sleep the night before.

12) When I worship I have to close my eyes. I get so distracted so easily that if I don’t close my eyes I can sing a song for several minutes without realizing I’m just singing and not praising God.

13) I still think they made a mistake accepting me to pharmacy school. I think on at least a weekly basis that someone is going to come into the classroom, drag me up to the dean’s office and tell me they meant to let in someone with the last name Daniel instead of me. I’m don’t feel smart enough to be here.

14) I am so terrified of clowns. I use to think they were a race of people when I am younger. They still utterly creep me out. I can’t go downtown the entire month of October for that reason. And if I see a clown on tv or in public I will leave, or change the channel…with my heart beating 100 miles an hour.

15) Popping gum drives me crazy. So does cracking your knuckles. I can stand nails on a chalkboard but I can’t stand someone popping anything.

16) Cotton balls make me shiver. I hate the feeling of them and the way they sound in between your fingers. I hate to pick them up and dread taking my fingernail polish off because of them. I’ll use a paper towel for this over a cotton ball any day.

17) I can’t wait to be an aunt in August. Being a bride and a wife are going to be amazing, being an aunt is an added bonus that I get. And I’m excited all the little ones are young enough to remember me as a constant in their life from early on.

18) I miss reading. As a kid I loved to read and always had my nose in a book. Now I don’t have near enough time to do it. And I read so fast that in 2 weeks I won’t remember if I read the book or not, and definitely won’t remember what it was about.

19) I hate cooking. Especially just for myself. I spend 2 hrs in the kitchen and the food is gone in 10 minutes. Not worth it to me. Guess that’ll change when I have kids.

20) I am planning a wedding for August, but a marriage for a lifetime.

21) I like to knit. I rarely have the patience to sit down and do it, but when I do I really enjoy it. I’ve knitted 1 and ½ of a scarf. In 4 years. By the time I graduate I should have the other one finished.

22) I love Friends. I can quote 90% of the episodes. If I’m in a bad mood it’s a great way to make me smile.

23) I think lab coat pockets are the greatest thing ever. I wish I had huge pockets in all my clothes…It’s a great place for keys, pencils, phone, sunglasses everything. No more need for a purse when you have your lab coat.

24) I get stuck on one song for weeks. And it’s all I will play. Over and over and over again. And then I get so sick of it I won’t play it for months.

25) I love being a girl. High heels, acrylic nails, highlighted hair, dresses, and makeup make me feel pretty. But the second I come home I will put on sweats and a t-shirt.

Big Girl Bed!

Sean is moving into a fully furnished apartment this summer and so he is moving all of his furniture to Austin. I will be selling my twin size bed, desk, etc. etc. and using his bed (soon to be "our bed") until we get married.

Can I just tell you how I am excited to have a big girl bed for the first time ever? I've slept in a twin size bed since I was two. So finally at 22, 3 months before I get married I will have a big girl bed all to myself! :)

It's really gonna be hard learning to share come August 22nd.

Invitations

Our invitations are being sent to the printer this week! I am very pleased with them, and this might be my favorite "wedding detail" so far! They are very personal and reflect Sean and I in so many ways....and might I add, GORGEOUS! Amber has done an incredible job!

My summer line up

Sorry these are kind of blurry...phone pictures :)

These two twins who are two and terribly cute beginning to talk. (And how I spend my Monday afternoons.)

This fiesty five month old is using the "fist method" to hold his bottle and finally found his feet!
(And this is my Tuesday afternoons!)

And this precious sweet pea is pulling up, piddling in everything, and piles her toys up everywhere! (And this is my Wednesday afternoons...)
This is where a lot of my laughs and joys come in life during stressful weeks, late nights, and early mornings. I love being a part of these kids lives for just a few hours a week. They make me smile when they discover and learn new things and give me a nice break from pharmacy school!

Not Me Monday!

Not Me Monday is back!

This past week I did not get 9-12 hours of sleep every night five out of seven nights!

And I'm not still tired.

I did not get not, one, not two, but THREE date nights with my soon to be husband this past weekend!

After going on one of those dates to a play I definitely did not really miss the stage and for a tiny tiny micromilli second think maybe I should throw pharmacy school out the window and pursue my acting career.

I am not at all worried about my test on Wednesday but I am not at the point of the semester where I really don't care anymore and I don't really really really need a break.

I am not going to gain 15lbs because all this studying is making me munch like crazy. I do not have two Bridesmaid dresses AND a wedding dress to fit into all in less than 3 1/2 months!

What did you NOT do this week?

Day 3

Last night Sean and I went to Bryan Community Theater and saw an audience interactive murder mystery play. We enjoyed ourselves quite a lot.

One of the things pre-martial counseling stressed was weekly date nights and the importance of them. This has to be one of the favorite things we learned in marriage counseling by far. And something that has been much needed in the last few weeks with classes and weddings reaching max stress points.

This week's forecast= lots and lots and lots of studying!

TWO posts in one day! Wow...or maybe this will count as my "May 2nd post..." it is after all, 1:30AM.

Why am I up so late you ask? Because I slept till noon today. a full 12 hours. It was glorious, and I'm not ashamed at all.

It was so nice to stay in tonight. Curl up on the couch with a big bowl of popcorn, a mindless movie, and my best friend. I can't wait for lazy Friday nights together when we are married.

Movie Review: Yes Man
Not the best. We give it a B/B(-) ....it was a weird movie. Cute, but weird. It made us laugh a few times, and it had a love story...a cute one at that, so that kept it out of the "C" range for me.

Today I looked under Sean's sink and all I found was three things of cleaner....and ....nothing else.

After thinking about my three FULL cabinets at home with hair products, nail polish, etc, etc. I realized this marriage is going to be fantastic. I get a wonderful God-fearing man...and 3/4's of his cabinet space....could I have gotten a better catch?
I think not.

A New Challenge

So one of my friends, friends (gotta love blog world) has a "May challenge" of blogging once a day every day in May. This will prove very challenging with all the traveling I will be doing in the next month. BUT I am going to try.

I'm in College Station visiting Sean....we got to go to ring dunks last night of a few of his friends. (Ring dunk= silly A&M tradition I will never understand but I am trying to embrace...)Old picture from Sean's ring dunk last year, but explains the tradition in photo form. :)

We have a crazy few weeks left: wrapping up our spring semester, three weddings in two weekends and lots of driving.

We had our shower last weekend in Shallowater (Sean's home town)....well I had our shower. Sean had to take the licensing exam for engineering (yuck.) but it was a lot of fun and neat to see Sean's friends/family and meet people that mean so much to him.

Engagement announcements have gone out in papers and thank you note writing is in full swing...and we're ALMOST in double digits...
